KEMER (TURCHIA) — Continua il buon momento per il Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom‑Fort, che si avvicina sempre più al successo in Turchia. Dopo i due podi di Davide Persico e il 4° posto di Alessandro Fancellu, oggi il successo è stato sfiorato da Marcin Budzinski, 2° nella 5ª tappa del Giro di Turchia (Patara–Kemer, 180,7 km). La vittoria odierna è andata a Casper Van Uden, che ha chiuso in 4:06:09.
Da sottolineare la grande prova collettiva della MBH Bank CSB Telecom‑Fort di Antonio Bevilacqua, Gabor Deak, della famiglia D’Aprile e Zoltan Bebto: oltre al podio di Budzinski, la squadra ha visto Fausto Masnada entrare nella fuga di giornata e poi ha lavorato con intensità nel finale per preparare lo sprint e portare Marcin nella miglior posizione possibile. Importante segnalare inoltre che Alessandro Fancellu ha guadagnato 2″ di abbuono in uno sprint intermedio.
DICHIARAZIONI — Marcin Budzinski subito dopo essere sceso dal podio.
“Sono molto felice del risultato perché è il mio primo podio quest’anno in una gara di categoria Pro. La scorsa settimana in Cina non è stata facile, quindi sono ancora più contento. Ho sprintato nel gruppetto di testa e i miei compagni mi hanno piazzato perfettamente nell’ultimo chilometro. Sono rimasto dietro i corridore della Picnic, e negli ultimi metri a Casper Van Uden”.
Sulla tappa: “La corsa non è stata semplice: dopo la partenza ci sono state salite brevi e molta lotta per andare in fuga, poi una lunga ascesa di 10 km che ha fatto selezione. Ho avuto qualche problema, ma sono rientrato nel gruppo. Dopo un tratto pianeggiante è arrivata la salita decisiva a 45 km dall’arrivo. I compagni che sono rimasti con me e mi hanno riportato nel gruppo di testa, facendo un lavoro eccellente. Li ringrazio per il grande sforzo e per la motivazione di oggi, e tutto il team per l’ottima prova”.

Inoltre un segnale incoraggiante arriva anche in classifica generale per la MBH Bank CSB Telecom‑Fort: Alessandro Fancellu ha guadagnato 2″ nello sprint intermedio, riducendo il distacco dalla maglia di leader e portandosi a 34″ da Iván Ramiro Sosa, che comanda la graduatoria con 10:39:44. Un progresso importante che mantiene vive le ambizioni della squadra in vista del secondo e ultimo arrivo in salita.”

KEMER (TURKEY) — The good form continues for Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom‑Fort, which is getting closer and closer to victory in Turkey. After two podiums from Davide Persico and Alessandro Fancellu’s 4th place, today Marcin Budzinski came close to winning, finishing 2nd in the 5th stage of the Tour of Turkey (Patara–Kemer, 180.7 km). Today’s win went to Casper Van Uden, who finished in 4:06:09.
Notable was the strong collective effort from MBH Bank CSB Telecom‑Fort’s Antonio Bevilacqua, Gabor Deak, the D’Aprile family and Zoltan Bebto: in addition to Budzinski’s podium, the team saw Fausto Masnada join the day’s break and then work hard in the finale to set up the sprint and bring Marcin into the best possible position. It is also important to note that Alessandro Fancellu gained 2″ bonus seconds in an intermediate sprint.

“I’m very happy with the result because it’s my first podium this year in a Pro category race. Last week in China wasn’t easy, so I’m even more pleased. I sprinted from the leading group and my teammates placed me perfectly in the final kilometer. I stayed on the wheel of the Picnic riders, and in the last meters Casper Van Uden…”
On the stage: “The race wasn’t simple: after the start there were short climbs and a lot of fighting to get into the break, then a long 10 km ascent that made selections. I had a few problems, but I rejoined the group. After a flat section the decisive climb came with 45 km to go. The teammates who stayed with me brought me back into the lead group, doing an excellent job. I thank them for the huge effort and for today’s motivation, and the whole team for a great performance.”
