Dopo quattro tappe in classifica generale Söderqvist guida la corsa con 13:27:45, seguito a 14″ da Benoît Cosnefroy (UAE Team Emirates – XRG) e a 4″ da Luke Plapp. Come anticipato, ottimo il salto in graduatoria di Alessandro Fancellu, ora 5° in classifica generale a 1’14” dal leader, piazzamento che evidenzia la solidità complessiva del team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort nella corsa.
DICHIARAZIONI: Fancellu: “Oggi abbiamo vissuto una situazione complicata: ci è stato comunicato in corsa che la tappa sarebbe stata accorciata. Improvvisamente, da meno 20 km al traguardo ci siamo ritrovati a meno 5 (è stato tolto un giro finale) e questo non ha giocato a nostro favore. Alla fine ho comunque dato il mio meglio. Forse avrei potuto essere più prudente, perché ho attaccato in un tratto molto duro spendendo molte energie. Domani ci aspetta l’ultima tappa e sarà dura: la stanchezza inizia ad affiorare tra i corridori del gruppo e dovremo fare i conti con il grande vento”.
In gruppo anche Márton Dina: “Sto vivendo una grande esperienza in una prova che mi vede attraversare il mio paese, con tanta gente che mi incita e urla il mio nome e quello del team. Una sensazione speciale con la maglia di campione nazionale in una formazione così profondamente ungherese. Credo di essere arrivato qui in Ungheria in ottima forma e sto cercando di fare il massimo, per me e per il team. C’è tanto pubblico e questo ci fa molto piacere: ci chiedono foto e autografi come se fossimo delle star. Grazie, Ungheria: mi hai regalato motivazioni extra per il resto della stagione”.
Il tecnico Gianluca Valoti commenta così la corsa: “Una tappa tutta da decifrare. Bravo Zoccarato con un grande tentativo di fuga e bravo Fancellu a tenere la posizione. Se la corsa sarebbe cambiata senza il taglio del percorso? Questo non lo possiamo sapere, ma accettiamo con fair play le decisioni degli organizzatori”.
Domani la squadra cercherà di confermare questi segnali positivi, proteggendo la classifica generale e cercando opportunità di tappa.

MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort faced a brutal stage today, the Mohács–Pécs 147 km at the Tour of Hongrie, which was shortened twice by the organizers due to bad weather that made the route impassable. Despite the difficulties and the reduced course, the team responded with two important placings: Alessandro Fancellu finished 7th and Samuele Zoccarato 8th. Fancellu is now 5th in the general classification, just 22″ from the podium.
The stage was won in a sprint by Jakob Söderqvist (Lidl‑Trek). Behind him were Adrián Benito (Team Polti VisitMalta) and Luke Plapp (Team Jayco AlUla).
After four stages Söderqvist leads the race at 13:27:45, followed 14″ back by Benoît Cosnefroy (UAE Team Emirates – XRG) and 4″ by Luke Plapp. As noted, Alessandro Fancellu made a strong jump up the standings and is now 5th overall at +1:14 from the leader, highlighting the overall solidity of MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort in the race.
QUOTES: Fancellu: “Today we faced a complicated situation: we were told during the race that the stage would be shortened. Suddenly, from 20 km to go we found ourselves at 5 km (a final lap was removed) and that did not play in our favour. In the end I gave my best anyway. Maybe I could have been more cautious, because I attacked on a very hard section and spent a lot of energy. Tomorrow is the last stage and it will be tough: fatigue is starting to show among the riders and we will have to deal with strong wind.”
Also in the bunch, Márton Dina: “I’m living a great experience in a race that takes me across my country, with many people cheering my name and the team’s. A special feeling wearing the national champion’s jersey in such a deeply Hungarian team. I believe I arrived here in Hungary in great shape and I’m doing my best for myself and the team. There are many fans and we really appreciate it: they ask for photos and autographs as if we were stars. Thank you, Hungary: you’ve given me extra motivation for the rest of the season.”
Coach Gianluca Valoti comments on the race: “A stage to decipher. Well done to Zoccarato for a great escape attempt and to Fancellu for holding position. Would the race have changed without the route cut? We can’t know, but we accept the organizers’ decisions in good faith.”
Tomorrow the team will try to confirm these positive signs, protecting the general classification and seeking stage opportunities.
