UMAG (CRO) – Segnali positivi per il Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort sulle strade dell’Istria. Nella gara disputata oggi a Umag, conclusa in volata dopo 3h07’22” di corsa intensa e nervosa, Davide Persico ha conquistato un 8° posto allo sprint, confermando il buon momento di forma già evidenziato con il 2° posto ottenuto nella tappa finale di Olbia al Giro della Sardegna.

La vittoria è andata ad Adam Bradac (Factor Racing), davanti a Dusan Rajovic (Solution Tech-NIPPO-Rali) e Erik Fetter (Team United Shipping).

La corsa, caratterizzata da un tracciato tecnico e ricco di rotatorie nel finale, si è rivelata particolarmente complessa con caduta di Christian Bagatin (fortunatamente senza conseguenze gravi). Un episodio che ha inevitabilmente ridotto le opzioni tattiche nel momento decisivo della gara.

DICHIARAZIONI: Queste le parole del velocista bergamasco al termine della gara:

“Per me oggi sensazioni buone. Eravamo solo in cinque della squadra e poi siamo rimasti in quattro per la caduta di Bagatin, per fortuna nulla di grave. Il finale è stato molto caotico e tecnico per le numerose rotonde, ma nonostante tutto siamo riusciti a entrare negli ultimi tre chilometri nelle prime posizioni. È mancato un compagno per gli ultimi 1500 metri perché hanno allungato due corridori e nessuno ha chiuso, quindi ci siamo un po’ aperti. Io, che ero nelle primissime posizioni, sono stato risucchiato e non ho più trovato lo spazio per uscire. La condizione è buona, ci manca un po’ di fortuna e di affiatamento nel finale.”

Un risultato che, pur non essendo un podio, rappresenta un ulteriore passo avanti per Persico e per il team, ancora alla ricerca della perfetta sincronizzazione nei finali ad alta velocità. L’8° posto in un arrivo così concitato conferma comunque competitività e continuità, elementi fondamentali in questa fase della stagione.

Sabato è invece il turno delle Strade Bianche, gara World Tour considerata la “sesta Monumento” del ciclismo mondiale, con molti dei big internazionali al via. Sarà per il nostro team il debutto nella massima categoria del ciclsmo, il World Tour appunto.

INIZIATIVA Venerdì, presso il villaggio hospitality di Siena, sarà possibile incontrare i corridori del team allo stand di Cetilar, partner nutrizionale per la stagione 2026. Hanno già confermato la loro presenza Samuele Zoccarato, Alessandro Verre, Márton Dina, Luca Cretti, Ale Fancellu, Marcin Budzinski e Lorenzo Nespoli. In ammiraglia Davide Martinelli e Gianluca Valoti.

In today’s race in Umag, which ended in a bunch sprint after 3h07’22” of intense and nervous racing, Davide Persico claimed 8th place in the sprint, confirming the strong form he had already shown with his 2nd place in the final stage in Olbia at the Giro della Sardegna.

Victory went to Adam Bradac (Factor Racing), ahead of Dusan Rajovic (Solution Tech-NIPPO-Rali) and Erik Fetter (Team United Shipping).

The race, characterized by a technical course with numerous roundabouts in the finale, proved particularly challenging, especially due to the crash involving Christian Bagatin, fortunately without serious consequences. An incident that inevitably reduced the team’s tactical options at the decisive moment of the race.

STATEMENTS

These were the words of the Bergamo sprinter after the race:

“Today I had good sensations. We were only five riders from the team and then we were down to four after Bagatin’s crash, luckily nothing serious. The finale was very chaotic and technical because of the many roundabouts, but despite that we managed to enter the last three kilometers in good positions. We were missing a teammate in the final 1500 meters because two riders attacked and no one chased them, so we got a bit stretched out. I was in the very front positions but got boxed in and couldn’t find space to launch my sprint. The condition is good; we’re just missing a bit of luck and cohesion in the final.”

Although not a podium result, it represents another step forward for Persico and the team, still working towards perfect synchronization in high-speed finishes. An 8th place in such a hectic sprint nevertheless confirms competitiveness and consistency, key elements at this stage of the season.

STRADE BIANCHE

On Saturday it will be time for Strade Bianche, a World Tour race considered the “sixth Monument” of world cycling, with many top international riders at the start. For our team, it will mark the debut in the top category of cycling, the World Tour.

On Friday, at the hospitality village in Siena, it will be possible to meet the team riders at the Cetilar stand, the team’s nutritional partner for the 2026 season.
