In ammiraglia oggi Gianluca Valoti.

(Christian Bagatin 3° a Istanbul).

  1. Baptiste Vadic (TotalEnergies) – 9’43”
  2. Pierre Thierry (TotalEnergies) – a 5”8
  3. Christian Bagatin (MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort) – a 8”

Christian Scaroni finished second, 12 seconds behind, followed by Anthon Charmig.Fancellu put in an excellent performance, attacking on the final ascent of Mungherino and attempting to make the difference before finishing fifth on the line in Larciano. It was an important day for the entire MBH CSB Telecom Fort team and for Fancellu, who has reached an exceptionally high level of performance this season, starting with his ninth-place finish at the Milano–Torino earlier this springSTATEMENTS — FANCELLU: “I tried to catch Pidcock off guard on the steep section,” explained the rider from Como, “and I felt really strong. I had just returned from an altitude training camp, and I had also won in the Czech Republic previously, so I knew I was in good shape. I gave it a determined effort, but Pidcock was stronger.”

The sprint:“Scaroni and Charmig jumped early and caught me by surprise. I was aiming for the podium.”

  1. Tom Pidcock — Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team — 4:33:08
  2. Christian Scaroni — XDS Astana Team — +12 seconds

BEYKOZ (TUR): Excellent third place for Varese native Christian Bagatin, riding for MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort, who finished 8 seconds behind the winner in the final time trial of the Tour of Istanbul. The 7.5-kilometre stage was held on a circuit from Beykoz to Beykoz.

Thanks to today’s result, Bagatin secured fifth place in the general classification, 28 seconds behind winner Vadic.

The victory went to Frenchman Baptiste Vadic (TotalEnergies), who stopped the clock in 9’43”. His teammate Pierre Thierry finished second, 5.8 seconds behind.

For the Varese-born rider and the entire MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort team, the Tour of Istanbul produced several strong results in a stage race that was far from easy. The event featured demanding, undulating courses, as well as constant sunshine and wind—conditions that made the tactical management of the race particularly challenging.

In today’s time trial, the other MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort riders achieved the following results: Lorenzo Nespoli finished 14th, 22 seconds behind, while Marcin Budziński was 17th, 24 seconds behind.

BAGATIN: These were Christian Bagatin’s words at the finish of the short time trial, which required a maximum effort: “This was a time trial I was really targeting, and I was hoping to make one final push. I had prepared specifically for this event, including through dedicated training sessions at Isola 2000, where I attended a training camp with the team in August. Vadic was simply the strongest, and I believe I took the right amount of risk.”

Bagatin added: “This is my first top-five finish among the professionals, and it is a great satisfaction.”

As has become customary, he also had a special dedication: “I believe my teammates were outstanding throughout all the race days. It is also important to thank the team and everyone who supports us throughout the year with professionalism and consistency. A personal dedication? To my partner, who shares with me the sacrifices involved in an athlete’s life.”
