2 ° POSTO PER BUDZINSKI IN FRANCIA

NANTES – Arriva un ottimo 2° posto per Marcin Budzinski alla Classic Loire Atlantique, gara del calendario francese che ha visto oggi al via il team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort.
La prova è stata vinta dal portoghese Iuri Leitão (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), che ha preceduto proprio Budzinski, mentre il podio è stato completato dal francese Mavric Beaune. La prova misurava 160 km.
Per il corridore polacco si tratta di una conferma importante dopo il brillante avvio di stagione, già evidenziato con i piazzamenti ottenuti al Tour of Sharjah.
Le parole di Budzinski:
“Sono soddisfatto della mia prestazione e voglio ringraziare i miei compagni di squadra per il grande lavoro svolto. Questo risultato dimostra che sono a un livello elevato e spero, con il tempo, di poter regalare diverse vittorie al team. Per ora è importante trovare continuità. Portiamo a casa questo podio senza rammarico: Leitão è un grande finisseur e i suoi risultati lo dimostrano”.
Sull’andamento della gara:
“La corsa è stata molto nervosa fin dall’inizio, anche per la presenza di tratti esposti al vento laterale. Abbiamo cercato di rimanere sempre nelle prime posizioni, ma cadute e un problema meccanico a metà gara hanno fermato Nicolò e Davide. Il gruppo si è ridotto progressivamente chilometro dopo chilometro a causa del vento e dei continui attacchi. A circa 35 km dall’arrivo, Samuele e Christian sono entrati nella fuga, mentre io sono rimasto con Barnabas e Zsombor in un gruppo di circa 40 corridori. La fuga è stata ripresa a 500 metri dall’arrivo e sono riuscito a sprintare conquistando il secondo posto”.

“Ho visto ottime cose dai nostri ragazzi. Bravi tutti, in una corsa sempre tirata dove non era facile neanche gestire le energie. Purtroppo caduta e foratura hanno attardato Buratti e Persico, che però con un grande sforzo sono rientrati. Ottimo anche il lavoro di Takacs e Peak, la presenza in fuga di Bagatin, Zoccarato. Domani ci spostiamo per una nuova prova di Coppa di Francia: il livello sarà ancora più alto, ma noi ci siamo”.

NANTES – A strong 2nd place for Marcin Budzinski at the Classic Loire Atlantique, a French calendar race that saw MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort at the start today.
The race was won by Portuguese rider Iuri Leitão (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), who finished ahead of Budzinski, while the podium was completed by French rider Mavric Beaune. The race covered a distance of 160 km.
For the Polish rider, this result is an important confirmation after a strong start to the season, already highlighted by his placings at the Tour of Sharjah.
Budzinski’s comments:
“I’m satisfied with my performance and I want to thank my teammates for the great work they did. This result shows that I’m at a high level, and I hope, over time, to be able to deliver several victories for the team. For now, consistency is key. We take this podium without regrets: Leitão is a great finisher, and his results prove it.”
On the race dynamics:
“The race was very nervous from the start, also due to sections exposed to crosswinds. We tried to stay at the front at all times, but crashes and a mechanical issue midway through the race delayed Nicolò and Davide. The group gradually reduced kilometer after kilometer because of the wind and continuous attacks. With about 35 km to go, Samuele and Christian joined the breakaway, while I stayed with Barnabas and Zsombor in a group of around 40 riders. The break was caught with 500 meters to go, and I managed to sprint to second place.”

“I saw very good things from our riders. Well done to everyone in a constantly demanding race where it wasn’t easy even to manage energy. Unfortunately, a crash and a puncture delayed Buratti and Persico, but with a great effort they managed to come back. Also excellent work by Takacs and Peak, as well as the presence in the break of Bagatin and Zoccarato. Tomorrow we move on to another French Cup race: the level will be even higher, but we are ready.”
