Tour of Sharjah: Budziński secondo in classifica generale, Nespoli vince la classifica giovani. Bilancio eccellente per il Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort

SHARJAH (UAE) – Si chiude con un risultato di assoluto prestigio il 10th Tour of Sharjah (2.2) per il Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort, protagonista per tutta la settimana sulle strade degli Emirati Arabi Uniti e autore di un bilancio complessivo di altissimo livello.

Nell’ultima tappa, da Sharjah a Sharjah (100 km), la formazione diretta da Marco Zamparella conquista il 2° posto nella classifica generale con Marcin Budziński, che conclude la corsa sul secondo gradino del podio finale, confermandosi tra i migliori uomini da classifica dell’intera manifestazione.

Ottimo anche il finale di giornata, con Davide Persico che ottiene un brillante 4° posto allo sprint, mentre Lorenzo Nespoli corona una settimana straordinaria conquistando la classifica giovani, chiudendo inoltre 2° nella classifica a punti e 2° nella classifica degli scalatori, a conferma di una continuità di rendimento di altissimo livello per l’atleta brianzolo classe 2004.

La settimana si chiude nel migliore dei modi per la formazione italo-ungherese, con un bilancio complessivo di una vittoria, tre secondi posti e un terzo posto, testimonianza di una presenza costante ai vertici in tutte le tappe.

Prestazione di grande valore anche per Matteo Ambrosini, protagonista di una lunga azione a meno 30 chilometri dall’arrivo: uscito in avanscoperta con altri tre corridori, è stato l’ultimo a essere ripreso a soli mille metri dal traguardo, dopo un’azione generosa e determinante per il lavoro di squadra.

«È stata una corsa interpretata nel modo giusto – spiega Zamparella –. Abbiamo fatto esattamente quanto stabilito alla vigilia: provare a conquistare il secondo posto in classifica generale con Marcin.

Al primo sprint intermedio ha fatto secondo, poi per sicurezza ha disputato anche il secondo sprint, ancora secondo, quindi ha gestito il finale lavorando per Persico. Davide purtroppo non è riuscito ad andare oltre il quarto posto in volata, ma il risultato complessivo resta eccellente.

Ottima anche la prova di Ambrosini, protagonista di una lunga fuga e ripreso solo nell’ultimo chilometro. Devo dire davvero bravi a tutti: squadra compatta, risultati importanti e grande continuità per tutta la settimana».

Le dichiarazioni di Marcin Budziński

«Dopo la tappa precedente ero a un solo secondo dal secondo posto in classifica generale, ma grazie all’aiuto della squadra e ai buoni piazzamenti negli sprint con abbuono sono riuscito a recuperare e tornare secondo.

Sono molto soddisfatto della mia prestazione: come inizio di stagione è un risultato davvero positivo. Tutta la squadra ha lavorato benissimo durante questi cinque giorni di gara, ci siamo trovati subito in sintonia e abbiamo collaborato nel migliore dei modi.

Voglio ringraziare tutti i compagni e lo staff per l’eccellente lavoro svolto».

Il corridore aggiunge:
«È bello iniziare la stagione con un buon risultato nella nuova squadra. In realtà non ero venuto negli Emirati con l’obiettivo di puntare alla classifica, ma soprattutto per aiutare la squadra negli sprint e in montagna».

Il prossimo impegno per il Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort è fissato per sabato 1° febbraio al GP La Marseillaise, classica d’apertura del calendario francese.

Tour of Sharjah: Budziński second overall, Nespoli wins the young riders classification. An outstanding balance for Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort

SHARJAH (UAE) – The 10th Tour of Sharjah (2.2) comes to a close with a result of absolute prestige for Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort, protagonists throughout the week on the roads of the United Arab Emirates and authors of an overall balance of the highest level.

In the final stage, from Sharjah to Sharjah (100 km), the team directed by Marco Zamparella claimed second place in the general classification with Marcin Budziński, who finished the race on the second step of the final podium, confirming himself among the best GC riders of the entire event.

A very positive end to the day as well, with Davide Persico taking an excellent 4th place in the sprint, while Lorenzo Nespoli capped off an extraordinary week by winning the young riders classification, also finishing second in the points classification and second in the mountains classification – proof of outstanding consistency for the 2004-born rider from Brianza.

The week ends in the best possible way for the Italian-Hungarian team, with an overall tally of one victory, three second places and one third place, confirming a constant presence at the top in every stage.

A performance of great value also from Matteo Ambrosini, protagonist of a long attack with less than 30 kilometres to go: escaping with three other riders, he was the last to be caught just one kilometre from the finish after a generous effort that proved decisive for the team’s work.

Sports Director Marco Zamparella’s assessment

“It was a race interpreted in the right way,” explained Zamparella. “We did exactly what we had planned the day before: try to secure second place overall with Marcin.

At the first intermediate sprint he finished second, then for safety he also contested the second sprint, again second, and afterwards managed the final while working for Persico. Unfortunately Davide couldn’t go beyond fourth place in the sprint, but the overall result remains excellent.

Ambrosini’s performance was also very good, protagonist of a long break and caught only in the final kilometre. I can truly say well done to everyone: compact team, important results and great consistency throughout the week.”

Marcin Budziński’s words

“After the previous stage I was only one second away from second place overall, but thanks to the help of the team and good placings in the bonus sprints I managed to recover and move back into second place.

I am very satisfied with my performance: as a start to the season it is really a very positive result. The whole team worked very well during these five days of racing, we immediately found good chemistry and cooperated in the best possible way.

I would like to thank all my teammates and the staff for the excellent work done.”

The rider added:
“It’s nice to start the season with a good result in my new team. In fact, I didn’t come to the UAE aiming for the general classification, but mainly to help the team in the sprints and in the mountains.”

The next appointment for Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort is scheduled for Saturday 1st February at the GP La Marseillaise, the opening classic of the French calendar.
