Al Suhub Mountain (UAE): Un’altra giornata da protagonista per il Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort al 10th Tour of Sharjah (2.2), che conferma un bilancio estremamente positivo dopo le prime quattro tappe della corsa emiratina dove oggi era in programma la tappa regina con arrivo in salita.

Dopo il 3° posto di Lorenzo Nespoli nella tappa del 23 gennaio, il 2° posto di Marcin Budziński il 24 gennaio e la vittoria di Nespoli nella cronometro del 25 gennaio, la formazione diretta da Marco Zamparella ha nuovamente lasciato il segno nella 4ª tappa – da Dibba Al Hisn Island ad Al Suhub Mountain (133 km) – grazie al secondo posto dello stesso Nespoli, battuto allo sprint a due dal più esperto Matteo Fabbro al termine di 3h20’38” di corsa e 133 km.

QUANTE MAGLIE: Un risultato di grande valore che consente al brianzolo di balzare in testa alla classifica a punti e alla classifica dei giovani, oltre al 2° posto nella graduatoria dei GPM, confermando una condizione eccellente e una continuità di rendimento di altissimo livello.

Ottima anche la prova di squadra, con Marcin Budziński che chiude 6° ed occupa ora al 3° posto in classifica generale, pienamente in corsa per il podio finale, mentre Matteo Ambrosini conclude in 14ª posizione, dopo un prezioso lavoro di supporto al capitano.

DICHIARAZIONI:

Analisi lucida e matura da parte di un raggiante  Lorenzo Nespoli: «È stata una gara molto dura, già dal mattino con un’ora e mezza in fuga. Sono rimasto coperto saltando i cambi, avevamo anche 1’30” di vantaggio prima di essere ripresi. L’obiettivo era chiaro: Dovevamo soprattutto restare vicini a Marcin, che è il nostro leader in classifica”.

Il racconto degli ultimi chilometri: “Nel finale io e Fabbro siamo riusciti ad andare via insieme. Forse allo sprint ho anticipato troppo la volata, partendo a 100 metri. La condizione c’è, mi dispiace soprattutto per aver compromesso la generale per inesperienza nella seconda tappa, dove ho perso 8 minuti. Anche oggi ho peccato di inesperienza. Fa parte del gioco: accettiamo e andiamo avanti. Qui nel deserto non sai mai come può finire una corsa, si va fortissimo e i percorsi sono complicati da gestire”.

In aggiunta: “Siamo un gruppo molto unito e con Zamparella ci confrontiamo spesso. Domani tappa per velocisti, Marcin cercherà gli abbuoni e Persico potrà dire la sua allo sprint. Poi tornerò in Spagna per la Ruta del Sol».

Soddisfatto anche il direttore sportivo Marzo Zamparella:
«Al di là della sconfitta allo sprint, guardiamo il bicchiere mezzo pieno. Grande lavoro di squadra, siamo stati protagonisti per tutta la giornata. Ora siamo terzi in generale e cercheremo di inventarci qualcosa nelle prossime tappe. Devo dire davvero bravi a tutti».

Al Suhub Mountain (UAE) – Another outstanding day for Team MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort at the 10th Tour of Sharjah (2.2), confirming an extremely positive balance after the first four stages of the Emirati race, with today featuring the queen stage finishing uphill.

After Lorenzo Nespoli’s 3rd place on January 23, Marcin Budziński’s 2nd place on January 24, and Nespoli’s victory in the time trial on January 25, the team led by Marco Zamparella once again made its mark in Stage 4 – from Dibba Al Hisn Island to Al Suhub Mountain (133 km) – thanks to Nespoli’s second place, beaten in a two-man sprint by the more experienced Matteo Fabbro after 3h20’38” of racing.

HOW MANY JERSEYS!
A result of great value that allows the rider from Brianza to move into the lead of both the points classification and the young riders classification, as well as into 2nd place in the mountains classification, confirming excellent form and remarkable consistency at the highest level.

The team performance was also excellent, with Marcin Budziński finishing 6th and now sitting 3rd overall, fully in contention for the final podium, while Matteo Ambrosini concluded in 14th place after valuable support work for the team leader.

STATEMENTS

A clear and mature analysis from a delighted Lorenzo Nespoli:
“It was a very hard race, already from the morning with an hour and a half in the breakaway. I stayed sheltered, skipping turns, and we even had a 1’30’’ advantage before being caught. The objective was clear: above all we had to stay close to Marcin, who is our leader in the general classification.”

On the final kilometres:
“In the finale Fabbro and I managed to go away together. Maybe in the sprint I launched too early, starting at 100 meters. The condition is there, but I’m especially sorry for having compromised the general classification due to inexperience in the second stage, where I lost eight minutes. Even today I lacked experience. It’s part of the game: we accept it and move on. Here in the desert you never know how a race can end, the pace is extremely high and the courses are difficult to manage.”

He added:
“We are a very united group and we often talk with Zamparella. Tomorrow is a stage for sprinters, Marcin will try for time bonuses and Persico can have his say in the sprint. Then I’ll return to Spain for the Ruta del Sol.”

Team manager Marco Zamparella was also satisfied:
“Beyond the sprint defeat, we look at the glass half full. Great teamwork, we were protagonists all day long. Now we are third overall and we will try to invent something in the next stages. I must really say well done to everyone.”
